What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that students should be supported and guided by their teacher so that they can come to the answer themselves. This approach builds confidence.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would review our goals and frequency of meeting. I'd try to get a sense of what holds the student back from achieving his expressed goals. Mostly, I would establish a sense of rapport and safety between my student and me so that nothing would hold us back from achieving our goal.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I try to inspire the student to create their own motivation. I do this with fun games and techniques that cause the student to wonder and draw their own questions.
