I am currently a student at the University of Georgia pursuing a Communications and Political Science double major. As someone who spent the majority of her high school years tutoring both peers and younger students, I was thrilled to hear about Varsity Tutors. I have had a passion for language arts for as long as I can remember. My main subjects are English -- reading, writing, test prep, and essay-editing. I have experience working with students of all age-levels, and I'm well-versed in a variety of different learning styles. I like to think of tutoring as a collaborative, constructive process, as I often end up learning as much from my students as (I hope) they learn from me. When I'm not busy with school, I enjoy volunteering, listening to all types of music, and and eating gargantuan amounts of ice cream.

Thank you for viewing my profile, and please feel free to contact me, as I am always eager to help you out in any way that I can. I look forward to working with you!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe empathy, patience, and fairness are key. I genuinely care about all the students I've tutored, and I take the time to know each of them as people to foster understanding and mutual respect. In my opinion, learning is a collaborative process, and I strive to maintain a comfortable environment in which students are not afraid to ask questions or provide feedback. Achievement is ultimately important and requires a fair bit of discipline, but in the end, I am here for my tutees, and their progress not only as students, but also as people.
