In high school, I was the valedictorian of my 450+ person class. I have a unique ability to create individualized plans for success. I have been a math teacher and tutor for over 10 years, which includes teaching secondary, collegiate, and graduate courses. I earned a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. I also have an M.B.A. in quantitative business analysis from Indiana University and earned my secondary mathematics teaching license/certification at Indiana Wesleyan University.

At Rice I was a student/athlete representing the Division I Owls in track and field. My senior year, I took advantage of the opportunity to reach more students, creating a small private tutoring company in Houston in which I served as lead tutor and conducted all business operations. I can think back to the many times I would have benefitted from having someone who could have guided me through stretches of daunting coursework which led me to become a tutor myself. Starting in middle school and continuing through my graduate career, I have tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, but I was most effective at tutoring math and science because of my lifelong love and aptitude for these subjects. Since I am also working towards a career in molecular biology, I use math and science every day, and I can explain real-world applications and uses for these subjects that may not seem obvious. By demonstrating the use of math and science in everyday life, I am able to help interact with the student and increase their interest in a subject in which they may experience difficulty.
