Help students see that what they are learning applies to their life.

Spend time getting to know the student and understanding their concerns.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Show them that learning can be fun and rewarding.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Help the student understand the "big picture," then break the work down into manageable chunks.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Find another way to teach the skill or concept. Everybody learns differently. Find what works best with each specific student.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Review the basics and find something they will enjoy reading. Once they can grasp the fun stuff, then move on to the more difficult.
