I am a graduate of Stony Brook University with a degree in Biochemistry. I tutored all throughout my college career both in groups and as an individual through the Women in Science and Engineering program. My tutoring philosophy is getting to know how my students learn and then tackle any problems using their strengths. I can explain things a hundred different ways and I won't give up until we feel confident, together, that a concept is understood.
What is your teaching philosophy?
Understanding the strengths and needs of a student is the best path to unlocking a student's potential.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Create a plan after assessing the needs of a student, based off of the time allotted and what is feasible.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Practice problems. Practice Problems. Practice Problems. Build confidence by practicing.
