In high school I was top 3% of my graduating class, part of the National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer Team Captain, and a member of the A Capella and Chamber Choir. Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Students should be able to understand the subject matter well enough after each tutoring session that they could teach me how to do it.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session, I would get to know my student personally in order to have a connection on a personal level. This would help the student respond to me better and help me know better teaching strategies.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

The best thing you can do is give a student a desire to learn. Find a passion of his/hers and link that passion to the topic being learned.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

It is necessary to show students why what they are learning is important in life. I would explain to them why this matters beyond the near future.
