We worked primarily on reading comprehension and discussed some strategies the student might use when she takes the test next week.

This session focused on review and webwork. During this session, we address problems related to sequences and series. This includes the several tests for convergence, root test, ratio test, conditional convergence, absolute convergence, etc. We also went over series divergence, geometric series, telescoping series, the integral test for convergence and divergence of infinite series, and p-series comparison tests. Another topic was expressing a repeating decimal as a series. We will soon go into Maclaurin and Taylor series. The student is doing well.

We went over concepts she will cover this week as well as starting the practice test at the end of chapter 1 as a review for the upcoming exam.

Today the student and I worked on graphing transformation, domain, and inverse and direct proportionality.

We went over the graph of the derivative of functions, which included critical points, and points of inflection. There were some improvements from the last session, including his ability to find the derivative of equations better. His understanding of when to use the power rule was better as well.

Concepts covered included perpendicular bisectors and midsegments. In preparation for a quiz, we did several of practice problems to check the student's understanding of the material. She feels very confident in her abilities heading into her quiz tomorrow.
