I am a Missouri State University alumni. I majored in Modern Language with a minor in Linguistics. I specialized in Spanish, as it is my native language. I can teach Spanish and English grammar very well. I am also well versed in writing in both languages. My favorite things to teach is phonetics. I personally think that when learning a new language, it is important to learn phonetics first! Knowing the sounds of a language helps you and others understand you more clearly. I tutor language because I think it's important for everyone to be media-literate. I also believe it helps to understand that we speak differently in certain social groups or situations. There is a time and place for everything, including day to day vocabulary. While I am very descriptive in my approach to language, I find it useful to teach this to improve quality of life through speaking. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading and crocheting.
