I am Annette the Teacher. I can't wait to tutor you here on Varsity Tutors. I am a Certified Reading Specialist, and an experienced College Essay advisor. I have a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. I have been teaching for over twenty years.



My educational philosophy is to foster the growth and knowledge of my students through personalized, project-based, and collaborative learning. I believe in nurturing every student's quest for knowledge through Activity-Based Learning. Learning should be fun.



Tutoring should be collaborative and interactive. I use a variety of methods when I tutor. I will work with you to find your strengths, weaknesses, and interests. We will work together to define your goals. I will design a unique curriculum just for you.



I also have experience working with children with special needs. I am Mom of a child on the autism spectrum and a child with serious medical needs and ADHD. I home-schooled my children from Kindergarten through their High School graduations. If your child has special needs, don't hesitate to get in touch with me so I can work with you and your child.
