I studied at Fordham University, where I received undergraduate degrees in English and Italian Language and Literature. After graduating, I worked for 10 years in media, first as an editorial assistant. Before leaving media, I ran a culture and opinion department. I also published my first book in 2021.

My years working as an editor and writer deeply informs how I work with my students. As a young kid, especially in the first grade, I struggled a lot with reading, writing, and vocabulary. I needed extra support before and after school. As a native Spanish speaker, it took me a while to fully feel comfortable with the English language.

The more books I read, the more comfortable I became with phonics, spelling, writing, and composition, and the more I fell in love with words.

I love tutoring all subjects related to words, including English, phonics, spelling, and essay writing. I want to empower students to use words in the same way I was inspired as a young child.

In college, I tutored students studying Italian, and after graduation, I worked occasionally as a babysitter and tutor. In 2020, I began freelancing as a tutor and working part-time as a babysitter.

As a tutor, my philosophy is to make sure the students I am working with feel empowered to write, read, and spell.
