I believe in the power of education and the potential of each student. My passion lies in guiding students to uncover their abilities, grasp complex scientific concepts, and develop a love for learning. I believe in individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning style. Using my experience with Next Generation Science Standards and curriculum development, I create engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of science. My aim is to build a supportive, engaging learning environment where students can thrive.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Biology with a minor in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a Master's of Arts in Teaching from Morningside College. Additionally, I have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa.

I have over 17 years of experience tutoring, teaching, and supporting students from very diverse backgrounds and helping them overcome a wide variety of challenges. Throughout my career, I have supported thousands of English Language Learners, Gifted and Talented students, and struggling students reaching their full potential. Over a decade of teaching has equipped me with an understanding of how students learn. My roles have spanned from classroom teaching to curriculum development and instructional coaching, all of which have honed my ability to support students effectively.

I have extensive experience supporting students, creating curricula, and teaching within all of the major science domains (Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth/Space Sciences) but I also excel in developing student's capacity within related subjects such as Math and English for them to have the skills required to be successful in any subject they want to pursue. My goal is always to make content accessible and build confidence in my students by knowing they have an advocate that is willing to support them in reaching their goals. I truly believe that every student has the potential to excel when provided with the right support and opportunities.
