I have been a teacher for over 20 years, and I truly enjoy helping people reach their academic goals. Seeing the "light bulb" when a student grasps the material is one of the most gratifying experiences I have ever felt. It is my belief that every student is capable of learning; however, no two students learn in the same manner or at the same speed/pace. I enjoy helping students identify their unique learning style and using that information to maximize their learning potential.

Recently, I finished a degree in School Counseling, so I also enjoy helping students ease their anxiety and stress levels and gain a better understanding of mental health. Although most of my experience has been in language arts, I have taught math classes from time to time as well.

I believe that strong reading/writing skills are critical to overall academic success. I have a Master's degree in reading from Emory & Henry college in Virginia, and my Bachelor's degree is in Interdisciplinary English. These degrees along with the 20 years of experience in this area have allowed me to build a strong foundation of this content and material.
