About Me

With a Ph.D. in Statistics and over fifteen years of teaching experience, I have devoted my career to helping students transform uncertainty into understanding and anxiety into confidence. My teaching journey has spanned introductory and advanced coursesincluding AP Statistics, Regression Analysis, and Probabilityand I take great pride in seeing my students not only master the material but truly enjoy it. I am especially passionate about helping students who once believed they "just aren't math people." Over the years, I've guided future actuaries to pass their exams, mentored undergraduates through challenging statistical projects, and supported learners from diverse backgrounds in discovering that mathematics can be both logical and creative. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, connection, and curiosity. I use interactive lectures, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world examplesfrom sports analytics to biomedical researchto make abstract ideas tangible and exciting. What I enjoy most about tutoring is witnessing that spark of realization when a student grasps a concept they once found intimidating. My goal is to equip each learner with both the technical skills and the self-belief to excel academically and apply quantitative thinking with confidence in their future careers. Outside of academia, I find inspiration in swimming and long walks, which often spark new ideas for making lessons more engaging. I see tutoring not just as teachingbut as building a partnership that empowers students to think critically, grow independently, and find joy in learning.
