I simply love teaching! I was a preschool teacher the last 2 years of high school, and continued in that position through most of college. Life happens, and my next teaching experience came from my special needs son - school was too much for him to handle so I homeschooled him, in all subjects, but he especially loved reading and comprehension. While I homeschooled him, we became members of several homeschooling groups, where I was given the opportunity to teach small and sometimes large classes of students across all ages and stages. This experience has given me the gift of knowing how and where to meet a child where THEY are on their learning journey. There are also different kinds of learners. I am able to adapt my approach and teaching style to each individual student in order to better connect with them and also better support them as they move forward.
Reading and learning the English language is all about decoding - comprehension can't happen until that de-coding nut is cracked, and I'm here to help you crack it! Along the way I hope you discover a love for learning as barriers become a thing of the past.
