PERSONAL STATEMENT OF KARL

Every day is a "new adventure" in living, so always remember to "Carpe Diem" ("seize the day").

Every challenge and task in my life is, to the best of my and my students' abilities, approached with a keen respect for time, time-management and a sense of productivity (not to be wasteful or inefficient in carrying out assignments) along with the ultimate objective/goal of attaining the "highest grades and standards" possible while "improving oneself and one's quality of life, step-by-step."

Accordingly, I try to achieve excellence by setting the right examples for other people in my life, both personally and professionally, while respecting the work culture I have been blessed with from my ancestors:

JAPANESE KAIZEN
The Japanese corporate philosophy of "Kaizen" ("continuously seeking perfection, step-by-step") is important for me, so I seek continuous self-improvement with the end game of "perfection" where possible, or at least "near perfection" which is the more likely outcome of Kaizen, in my case, since I too am human and make errors and makes, but try to learn from each one.

GERMAN PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY CONTROL (Produktivitt und Qualitt)
The German work ethics of "efficiency" and "Produktivitt," are what I strive for when approaching a specific task at hand, being respectful of my (and others') time and maximum efficiency/productivity, so the highest quality (work product), "Qualitt," can be achieved in the least amount of time. In this way, more things can be accomplished in less time and with greater outcomes.

After all, my mother is German-American and my father is Japanese-American, so I feel obligated to emulate the cultures and work ethics of my ancestors with subtle pride while helping others, including my important students, to ``maximize personal time-management productivity, A+ grade efficiency and academic work product excellence with everyone's "eyes on the prize" (quoting Dr MLK, Jr) with all due respect for the one finite asset beyond our control, time!

Thank you for this rare opportunity to share my personal statement with colleagues, students and parents for whom I am grateful to be of service in helping them accomplish success in their lives both inside and outside of the classroom and to be global citizens of the highest quality!
