Having had a passion for education from a young age, I received my Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in 2011 with a focused major in Elementary Education. Before that, I was the President of the Aspire to Teach club in High School because my desire to teach began long before I was admitted into college. After graduation, I worked in the public school system, teaching and tutoring students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. I also became a private tutor working with students in Middle and High School.

Fulfilling a dream of mine now as a homeschool teacher to my own children, we are exploring and mastering all subjects at the Elementary grade level. My experience homeschooling has expanded my creativity and adaptability to creating customized and engaging lessons in a one-on-one learning style.

I enjoy teaching every subject from Math to Language Arts & Reading, to Science and even Social Studies. I'm especially fond of using fun and interactive formats to learning topics that tailor to a specific interest a student has to maximize engagement and motivation. My philosophy is that if you can somehow find a connection to a student's passion or interests and incorporate it with something they struggle with, you'll often see a dynamic shift in their understanding and willingness to keep pushing through a subject or task that they once disliked.
