I have a terminal degree in Directing for Theatre (MFA) and have completed all but the thesis portion of a Masters in Education from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. For nearly 25 years I have been an independent tutor in voice, acting, other theatrical disciplines, and interpretation of literature. I've also 9 years experience in the classroom in high schools and universities. Serving as President of the National Assn of Teachers of Singing Chapter in St. Louis is a point of pride.
I'm very strong in tutoring Fine/Performing Arts subjects, voice, etc. English is a particular love as well. Helping students learn to write, increase vocabulary, and increase reading comprehension and speed is very important to me. I'm particularly good at literary analysis and interpretation.
Discovering the learning styles of each individual is an adventure that I love. Finding the best way to reach you based on your interests, strengths, and weaknesses is both challenging and fun. It keeps me vitalized and fascinated, eager to learn more about you and the subject under discussion.
I love art and animals (notably cats and horses), the outdoors, bicycling, canoeing, gardening, woodwork. I include art in the outdoor pursuits because I do plein air painting. Indoors, I love to cook, sew, read, knit, crochet, cross-stitch, play piano, and more art!
