I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Biola University in Southern California. As an undergraduate I studied abroad at Oxford University, where I studied Victorian literature, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Old Norse amongst other subjects. I hope to return to Oxford someday to study early medieval literature and modern languages.
While a student, I spent a year tutoring undergraduate and graduate students in writing, grammar, and the mechanics of the English language for a variety of subjects including literature, philosophy, and history. I enjoy tutoring students who require help with improving their skills in the English language, essay writing, college applications, and literary analysis.
My goal when tutoring students is to help them improve their skills so that eventually they will not require a tutor and will feel confident in their own usage of the English language, their own writing and use of voice, and their own ideas.
In my spare time I like watching old Hollywood movies, reading Tolkien, Gothic literature, and Dostoevsky, riding horses, drawing and painting, and walking my Yorkshire Terrier, Lizzie!
