Hi! I'm Sameerah. If you're reading this, it means you are looking for someone to help you study or learn new subjects. You've come to the right place because I have spent innumerable hours studying and tutoring students in the past. Before we move on, here's a little section about me to get to know me.

Little Info about me:
- I am 23 years old (Fun fact: born on 11/11)
- I graduated with a BS in Integrative Neuroscience & BA in Spanish Language and Literature from Binghamton University in December 2018
- Currently pursuing a MS in Systems Science Engineering in Healthcare through Binghamton University - Manhattan location
- Currently in the process of medical school applications & working as a scribe for Northwell Health
- Hobbies/Interests: I used to dance a lot in college, I had training for Indian classical dance for over 10 years and in college explored other areas. Now, I'm mostly finding time to balance work/academics/personal life. In my spare time, I like to go to the gym and dabble with lightroom and photoshop for photography. I love listening to music and discovering new artists as well.

The reason why I tutor is that I want to help others reach their goals and dreams. I also enjoy continuously learning and refreshing upon prior concepts. As a student, I have taken many classes and many exams. I know how difficult and frustrating it can be when you are unable to get a certain score. For me, I had to explore many different techniques from flashcards to rewriting notes, reciting notes out loud to teach myself, writing on a markerboard, color-coding key facts and ideas and so much more. Every student learns differently, and I actually struggled a lot in classes because, for me, I study better on my own through independent learning. I needed more time than others to grasp a concept, but I was able to score well on exams because I disciplined myself and put in great work to get to where I am now. My wish is that you are also able to reach that goal and/or become a better student and better learner in the process.

Tutoring/Teaching History:
In the past, I was a part of the student and peer teaching in high school. I tutored peers while I was taking my AP classes and was also part of a mentor program where I tutored middle school students. During my freshman year of college, I was in a BU science program where I taught local elemrnatary school children basic scientific principles such as the scientific method or demonstrated fun science experiments. During my sophomore year of college, I was one of 7 teaching assistants for Intro to Psychology (class of 500 students). We held our weekly review sessions and helped our professor grade assignments and exams. During my junior and senior years of college, I was a walk-in-tutor for students of the EOP (educational opportunity program) where I was able to help my peers who were low-income or first-generation students succeed. I tutored in a vast variety of subjects from chemistry to psychology to calculus to Spanish. In my final year of college, I was a teaching assistant for animal histology, which I believe is one of the hardest classes to ever take in college. The only reason how I got an A in that class was that I attended my professor's office hours and scheduled time for more help. While it was challenging and required much effort outside of class, I am proud to have done well and happy that I was able to help the following year's students perform successfully as well.

Final Points:
Thank you for the time for reading this and for getting to know me. I know studying and learning can be overwhelming at times especially with other commitments. I can help you find that balance and get you one step closer to your goals. Just by requesting tutoring and guidance, you have already taken the first step and I applaud you for that. Let's take a few more steps together, and at the end of the path, I believe we can make a great positive impact and improve your skills and performance results.

Wishing you all the best,
Sameerah
