I love teaching and working with students because everyone I work with makes me think about the material in a new way. It's a wonderful feeling to see someone grasp a topic they've been struggling with and make new connections. I have a wide variety of interests which is reflected in the subjects I tutor: Spanish and introductory science classes like organic chemistry, biology, and microbiology. I am a rising Junior at the University of Michigan with a Microbiology major and Spanish minor. Every student learns differently, and I believe in customizing my approach to each person individually. Although I do not have previous formal tutoring experiences, I have worked with many informal study groups at UM and take pride in my communication skills to discuss complex issues. I believe a broad, liberal arts education teaches students not only information, but how to generate unique, analytical thoughts.
