Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement, and by the end of it, I hope that you will consider placing your trust in me to help impact your or your loved one's pursuit of knowledge and success!
To begin, I would like to provide a quick background of myself. I grew up in Alabama, and was blessed to have parents who saw to a very balanced upbringing. My siblings and I were encouraged to participate in sports, work hard in school, learn how to operate a household, and explore our world. While a pursuit of knowledge and academic success was certainly emphasized at the core of this, my parents also strongly encouraged an understanding of humans and the human experience. Nothing was placed on a higher pedestal than simply being kind to our fellow people, and in doing so learning how to understand them and how they perceive things. This concept was fostered heavily in my involvement in sports, extracurricular such as Boy Scouts, community service, the workplace, and of course peer and younger associate interactions. To me, nothing became more important than enabling and building up those around me. I loved tutoring in any opportunity I had, loved the opportunity to perform the duty of team captains in high school and especially enjoyed using it to include and enable underclassmen, and loved looking for those who were struggling to find any opportunity possible to build them up.
As such, with a love for enabling others and academics, I chose to pursue a career in medicine. I graduated from University of Alabama School of Medicine, or UAB as it's known to many, and chose the field of Family Medicine. I enjoyed it, but I left it this past winter as I wanted to pursue a career in Pediatrics. I loved partaking in the care and enhancement of children, and really enjoyed my previous tutoring opportunities in life. I enjoyed trying to figure out how to find out how to communicate with the kids, and finding what they individually needed to understand how to inspire them to partake in their own care.
I have a passion for enabling youth, and I believe I have a gift in figuring out what kids need on individual levels to give them the confidence and joy of advocating themselves. I take great joy in making people believe in themselves, as I believe that this is the most fundamental step in truly meaningful learning, and eventual success. I hope you'll give me the opportunity to assist you or your loved one to believing in him or herself, and believing in the ability to learn. I can do this at any level of initial belief, I am confident of this, and I hope you'll give me the opportunity to prove it!
