Transforming students' lives is what I do!
For over twenty years I have been nurturing students' academic abilities and had the pleasure of witnessing significant academic growth. I am a strong believer in educating children by using engaging techniques tailored to meet their individual needs. Not only have I taught numerous children over the years from diverse cultural backgrounds but I laid the foundation for my own two children towards their valuable careers.
I am a graduate of Montclair State University in New Jersey where I obtained my Bachelors (BA) and my Masters (M Ed) degrees in Elementary and Special Education respectively. I am also an executive educational specialist, possessing a post graduate degree (Ed.S) in educational leadership, management policy and supervision from Seton Hall University.
While accomplishing my educational certifications I have been employed as a full-time educator in one of New Jersey's public school districts where I am currently working as a special education teacher. My responsibilities as a veteran educator with over twenty years of experience include teaching students in both the general and special education student population. While I teach all subjects in the elementary curriculum I am most passionate about mathematics and reading. My strengths lie in helping struggling learners achieve their short and long term academic goals. To this end I am a highly motivated and resourceful educator whose pedagogical approaches involve relative curriculum knowledge, visual and hands-on teaching methods and high-quality data-driven questioning techniques.
Besides being an educational specialist I have been a private tutor with sessions held at my residence for the past three years.
