I am a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Before University, I've studied in local schools in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Bowling Green, Kentucky. Being raised in a multilingual family, I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and English. I am currently pursuing a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Diploma, in order to become a more professional language teacher.

I have always been passionate about helping others learn new languages and appreciate different cultures. I grew up tutoring my Chinese classmates in English as well as teaching my American father conversational Chinese. When I moved to Bowling Green for the last two years of high school, I volunteered at the Bowling Green Junior High School as an assistant teacher for their Mandarin Chinese program, and helped 7th and 8th graders improve their interest and competence in Chinese. In University, I continued to tutor my Vanderbilt friends who were majoring or minoring in Chinese. My passion for helping others improve and learn also grew beyond languages. Following my acceptance to Vanderbilt University in my senior year of high school, I volunteered to help juniors with their SAT and ACT preparation.

I will always teach the fundamental skills of effective and efficient learning, regardless of the specific topic of instruction. I believe that when students are equipped with the right set of refined learning skills, they can confidently approach and overcome any academic obstacles individually. Additionally, I promise to always get to know my students and treat them with respect, while also challenging them to fulfill their true potential. The key to happiness is progress, and education can fuel the self improvement that ultimately drives progress in our lives.

Outside of tutoring, I am also an avid weightlifter and fitness enthusiast. I enjoy travelling and hiking in the outdoors. I have also been a member of Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Vanderbilt University for four years, and recently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps.
