I'm a college student at Harding University. I have nearly attained a major in Elementary Education, and a double minor in Missions and Spanish.
I have been a tutor for a range of students between 1st grade to the university level. Currently, I am a teacher at a preschool for 2 and 3 year olds.
I tutor Spanish, English, Writing, Elementary Math, and Reading.
My favorite two subjects to tutor are Writing and Spanish, because I am very passionate about helping students express themselves, and communicate in a way that is effective and meaningful.
My teaching philosophy is very holistic. I believe in trying to help a student become the best version of themselves in all aspects of life, not only on the academic level. I believe that all students have the potential to learn, grow, and find their passion. That being said, I also believe in the individuality of each student, and realize that everyone takes in and expresses information in different ways. Throughout my tutoring sessions, I strive to guide the student in the direction that will most benefit them. I stray from one-size-fits-all tactics, and try to offer individualized instruction.
Outside of academia, I am very interested in new places, cultures, and languages. I have lived in 3 countries and have visited over 12. I feel this part of my life has made a significant impact on who I am and what I enjoy. I love to explore cookbooks from different countries, read, hike, dance, and spend time with my family. In high school, I was heavily involved in theatre and still love watching theatrical productions. I have more recently gotten into drawing and running, and find both very therapeutic.
Above all, I want to listen to the needs of others, and do what I can to help them overcome the challenges that are holding them back.
