I am a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I graduated with honors, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in mathematics, chemistry, and French. I aspire to become a physician, especially a neurologist, since I am kind of obsessed with the brain and our nervous system. For the next year, I will be working part time as a scribe at the Northside Hospitals in Atlanta.
Ever since high school, I have been a tutor in one way or another. I was a peer mentor at my high school’s writing center for three years in a row. Although I was not paid for my services, I enjoyed tutoring other students because teaching helped me expand my knowledge on the material, as well. That is when my interest in tutoring began. I kept tutoring in college as well with the athletic department and TRIO academic services. Through my experiences, I have grown as an educator, learning different tactics and strategies to help students expand their knowledge. My passion for helping others has not left me and I would like to use it to help students in this program.
