Andrew
Certified Tutor
Hi, I'm Andrew! I am currently a sophomore at University of California, Berkeley but have lived in New Jersey prior to college. I graduated from Biotechnology High School and have first-hand experience with K-12 education in New Jersey. I realized that even though the schooling system in New Jersey is great, it may not give you an idea of what you want to pursue after you finish high school. I personally felt this after attending twelve years of schooling and still do not have a perfect idea of my goal in my undergraduate career. As a tutor, I aim to help students not only improve their academic skills and grades but also grasp a better understanding of their future aspirations in college.
Regarding my experience, I have worked as a teacher and private tutor for K-12 students at JEI Learning Center. I created a system of reflective teaching that worked on reinforcing both known concepts and shaky areas with repetition and practice. In addition, I have experience working one-on-one with students at disadvantaged positions in order to increase confidence and decrease chances of future risky decisions through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Currently, I am a teaching assistant in San Francisco where I help elementary school students with homework and afternoon activities.
My overall goal is to act as a positive influence for youth to ensure personal and intellectual success. Because I am still a student myself, I understand how essential extra practice is and know that teachers may not always go over concepts clearly the first time. I want to help the students prepare any issues beforehand by going over schoolwork, homework, and extra practice questions. I am easy to contact and will always respond quickly so feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Trigonometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, SAT Math
I am eager to teach and look forward to scheduling a lesson with you!
