I am a dynamic science educator and Teach For America alumna with seven years of instructional experience in high-need schools in Philadelphia and Nashville. I attended New York University and earned a Bachelors in Psychology. After graduating, I knew that I wanted to improve the lives of as many people as possible, so I decided to join Teach For America. Through TFA, I earned a Masters in Education at University of Pennsylvania and gained experience teaching. Seven years later, I still love it!

Through my career I have taught various grade levels and science subjects including: Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. My favorite part about teaching science is having the chance to perform lab activities and make exciting connections to the world around us. Personally, I love Environmental Science because it is so relevant to today's issues.

When teaching or tutoring, I always try to explain things in multiple ways. My lesson plans have students reading, completing online activities, performing experiments, or discussing topics. I believe that when students can see or experience a concept for themselves, it creates long-term internalization as opposed to simple memorization. At the end of a lesson or tutoring session, I make sure to check that students can demonstrate knowledge in the topic in the same way they will be asked on classroom assessments or standardized tests. However, I will also push them to explain concepts to me on a deeper level through writing or oral presentation.

When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I love cooking new and exciting recipes that I find on the internet. I am always singing and used to perform regularly back in high school. I've also recently gotten into rock climbing. If the weather is right, you might also find me reading a book by the pool!
