I am a graduate of the National University of Madrid, Spain. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Literary Cultural Studies with a focus on the Teaching of the Spanish Language. Since graduation, I have received a Masters Degree in Education from the Pan American University of Mexico and a PhD in Foreign Language Education from the University in Geneva.
I have had the opportunity of teaching teachers how to teach the Spanish Language in the Bilingual Programs from the State of Texas.
I have worked in Corporate world tutoring adults looking to improve their Spanish or English (as I am a certified ESL instructor); and private clients in the Mexico and Spain.
I have been a Spanish teacher in Texas in Elementary School and Middle School.
And thought while I tutor a broad range of ages, I am most passionate about the experience of the student not minding the age.
I have experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the Advanced Placement exams or when the student is needing support and is struggling in Spanish.
I am a firm proponent of a second language education, believing it to be absolutely necessary since the diversity in the community as well as in the corporate world can improved opportunities in different fields of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. I am passionate a hands on teacher.
I believe that language learners learn best when they can be hands on and engaged. I want my students to enjoy their lessons and look forward to their next session. I motivate my students and provide activities that help them understand the meaning and importance of learning the language.
In my spare time, I enjoy music (I play the Acoustic guitar) and love Photography which I am in love with as another means of communication, which enriches my life.
I have been a member of the international Teaching Association since 1986.
I look forward to helping you learn or improve your Spanish!
