As a budding neuroscientist, I believe the spread of information and the education of this generation's youth is a vital obligation of the
scientific and academic community. My interest in teaching and mentoring is rooted in the desire to responsibly inform the public, embolden educational efforts, and communicate and connect with the next generation of academics. In every aspect of my teaching career, whether it has been serving as a T.A. for incoming graduate students, coaching high school speech and forensics, or tutoring at multiple levels, I have loved to not only develop the interests and mastery of my students and mentees, but stimulate their passion for learning and solving problems and developing interest in why the material they are studying is important and necessary (beyond the grades). As a current PhD student, education has, and will continue to be, the most important aspect to my professional career, and I hope to pass that passion along!
