I am an alumni of Eastern Arizona College(EAC) and Brigham Young University-Idaho(BYU-I). I have an A.A. in Mathematics, an A.A.S. in Geology, and recently attained a B.S. in Geology (I know what you're thinking...B.S., meaning Bachelor's of Science!). I have close to 5 years experience as a teaching assistant where I helped students with their learning, and one year of tutoring experience. As a tutor, I had the opportunity to work with college aged students at various skill levels. Although the majority of my experience is with college aged students, I am completely comfortable working with all ages. I tutor various math subjects which include: Elementary Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Calculus 1. I tutor Chemistry, Geology, English, and Spanish 1. Although I thoroughly enjoy tutoring all these subjects, my absolute favorites to tutor are Geology, as it is my major, and I love it, and Algebra. There's just something fulfilling about solving algebraic equations! I like to ensure that students not only understand the study material, but they maybe even begin to enjoy it. Learning is fun, especially when you see the well-earned results of all your hard work! Outside of academics, I love to play ultimate frisbee. I have to say at this point, it is my favorite pastime. I also love fishing (fly fishing is the best), water color painting, reading, gem faceting, and creating stained glass art pieces(I'm even wearing one of my creations in my picture). I love playing most sports, and being outdoors is amazing, although sometimes you just need a fuzzy blanket, comfortable chair, cup of cocoa, and a great book. I love to work with my hands and take pride in completing projects. I also love helping people achieve and work toward the great potential that they have. I believe the process of potential is progressive. See your potential, strive to, and then achieve it, then, repeat! I love to be a part of this process, because I believe I am achieving my own potential when I help others succeed.
