I am a sophomore attending NYU who is working towards an English major and hopefully a minor in Marketing. School has always been an important part of my life and working towards a career I hope to attain when I graduate, so I look forward to working with your child or with you in the future!
Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
Teaching is never a one-way street, it involves the student and the teacher working together to help the student succeed. I believe that if a student applies their self to their studies enough that they can achieve whatever they want to.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During our first session, I would introduce myself and ask the student something interesting about their self. That first session is about establishing a connection and making sure I will be able to work well with the student in order to maximize their ability to succeed in their studies.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
At the end of each session, I would like to provide a small activity for the student to complete before our next session. It may not pertain to their studies, but it will encourage them to learn about something new and maybe something that will be interesting to them.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Encouragement, encouragement, encouragement! Don't ever put a student down, and make sure that their learning experience is entertaining for them!
