I recently graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies and Russian Regional Studies. I have 9 years of experience as a teacher of English and French as second languages, tutoring SAT and ACT, assisting with the American college admissions process, and tutoring a variety of AP and IB subjects. As a lover of languages and a traveler, some of my favorite subjects to teach are reading, writing, French, and world history, but I also love turning standardized test prep into a game to help students succeed while having fun. I personally struggled with the math sections of college admissions exams when I was in high school, but ended up with a near-perfect score, and would love to share my knowledge with others. I speak French, Arabic, and Russian in addition to English.

I am a native speaker of French who grew up in a French Caribbean household in New York City. I am passionate about all areas of the Francophone world, but I love discussing with my students French literature and music especially. I have been teaching French in some of the best independent schools in the country for the past six years at the middle and high school level. I have also tutored French to students privately at the middle and high school levels. I received my bachelor's degree at Wesleyan University and my master's degree at Middlebury College. I am currently working towards a second masters from New York University. I enjoy tutoring French because I love empowering students and teaching them the beauty of the language that I grew up with and know very well ! I teach using comprehensible input (music, stories, and different multimedia sources) that have my students speaking and practicing from the very first lesson. I look forward to meeting and working with you !

I am a graduate of Northwestern University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in social work at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. I am passionate about tutoring because I want everyone to be able to perform academically at their highest possible level. I also think it is important that learning is not just for one assignment or one test, but rather that it sticks with you to build a solid foundation of knowledge and confidence that you can carry forward. My favorite subjects to tutor include English, SAT test preparation, math, and psychology. My approach to tutoring is to meet the student where they're at and go from there. I find that this way we can build a productive tutoring relationship where I can help individualize learning to each person's particular learning style. Outside of academic interests, I enjoy cooking, being with friends and family, traveling the world, and looking as ridiculous as possible doing Zumba.

I received a B.A. in International Political Economy with minors in Economics and Spanish from Penn State University. While in college, I spent one year abroad taking classes at a university in Spain. I wanted to go back to Spain for grad school. I wound up doing a joint American/Spanish law degree program. I taught English for two years while earning my Spanish law degree. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Spanish, Literature, and History. I love learning and I can always be found with a book in my hand when I'm not in the pool! I've spent over 20 years being a student, so I know what it is like on the other side of the table. I'll do my best to work with your particular learning style and make sessions as engaging and interesting as possible.

My dreams and aspirations are around science and medicine.Even though my career has taken various turns, my passion was in teaching. I completed my high school diploma and graduated from Palmetto Senior High. I got into Miami Dade College, where I enrolled in the science department and majored in biology.During my first semester at Miami Dade College, I won a full tennis scholarship, which helped with tuition and books. After graduating with an Associate of Arts degree, I won another tennis scholarship to St. Thomas University. There, I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. As an athlete, I traveled frequently. I was fortunate to experience many different cultures and meet people of various backgrounds. It has enabled me to be flexible and versatile to unexpected turns and twists in life. Maturity provided a stable ground that kept me in the direction I face today.During my college attendance, I volunteered for Jackson Memorial and Baptist Hospital of Miami. It was there that I devoted my time and energy to humanity. I developed a vast understanding of the world of medicine. I volunteered many hours in The Burn Center, Trauma Unit, Pediatric, ICU, ER, and Pathology.cI then got accepted to Barry University, where I received a Master's degree in biomedical sciences. The education and experience I have received have given me the confidence, knowledge, and well-rounded background in medicine and science.I then entered medical college (Xavier University School of Medicine), which provides the knowledge and art of healing the human body. It encompassed many healthcare practices developed to sustain and restore an individual's health.I finally graduated with my MD degree. I could not imagine not being a part of such an exciting, exhilarating, and rewarding field as science and medicine.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Alabama who will be starting at Yale Law School in the fall of 2019. I double majored in International Studies and French with a minor in African American Studies. During my time at UA, I participated in mentoring programs that allowed me to work with elementary school children, in addition, to being a coach for children aged 2-18 years old. I entirely self-studied for the LSAT and scored in the top 1 percentile, so I am well prepared for helping students achieve their law school goals.

With a Ph.D. in Statistics and over fifteen years of teaching experience, I have devoted my career to helping students transform uncertainty into understanding and anxiety into confidence. My teaching journey has spanned introductory and advanced coursesincluding AP Statistics, Regression Analysis, and Probabilityand I take great pride in seeing my students not only master the material but truly enjoy it.I am especially passionate about helping students who once believed they "just aren't math people." Over the years, I've guided future actuaries to pass their exams, mentored undergraduates through challenging statistical projects, and supported learners from diverse backgrounds in discovering that mathematics can be both logical and creative. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, connection, and curiosity. I use interactive lectures, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world examplesfrom sports analytics to biomedical researchto make abstract ideas tangible and exciting. What I enjoy most about tutoring is witnessing that spark of realization when a student grasps a concept they once found intimidating. My goal is to equip each learner with both the technical skills and the self-belief to excel academically and apply quantitative thinking with confidence in their future careers.Outside of academia, I find inspiration in swimming and long walks, which often spark new ideas for making lessons more engaging. I see tutoring not just as teachingbut as building a partnership that empowers students to think critically, grow independently, and find joy in learning.

I am originally from the suburbs of St. Louis, MO, and I attended Rockhurst University for my undergraduate degree. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French & Education with a minor in English Literature. I am also currently working towards a Master of Arts in French at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I am certified to teach French K-12 in the state of Missouri (and have the qualifications for Kansas). I enjoyed teaching at both the middle school and the high school level as part of my training. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored both writing and French. I am now substitute teaching at a French immersion school in the area, and I had fun teaching grades 2nd and 5th there over the summer. I am available to tutor English grammar, literature, writing, math up to Algebra 1, all levels of French, and test prep (including ACT). As someone with an appreciation for languages, I especially like tutoring English and French. Since I am a certified teacher, I am prepared to present information in a variety of ways to help my students with understanding. Additionally, I like to help my students take responsibility for their own learning during our sessions. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my roommates and our animals, watching shows and movies, going to sporting events, and taking advantage of the nice weather outdoors.
