What is your teaching philosophy?

Allow for multiple ways to explain the material, because not all students learn the same way, so have multiple ways to show the material.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Figure out what the student knows and what they are struggling with.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

As the student becomes more comfortable, slowly back off on the amount of help you give. Also, rather than just give answers, show the students how to think through the problem correctly and arrive on the answer on their own.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

With positive reinforcement and letting them know when they are doing well.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Try using real world examples or a different method of instruction.
