What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment for students to recognize their true potential. I will help each student make the appropriate academic gains while realizing learning can be a fun and rewarding experience.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

A first session will primarily be spent getting to know the student, where they are academically, and what progress they would like to see in a given amount of time. A first session is an opportunity for some pre-assessment and to make goals for our learning.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Positive reinforcement is key. I think learning should be a fun experience where the student is made aware when they are on the right track. I like to incorporate hands-on activities and breaks to help students stay focused and motivated.
