I have worked as an elementary classroom teacher for the past 6 years. This year, I will be a student support resource teacher in order to focus on meeting the individual needs of specific students. I am also beginning classes for my Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that all students have the potential to be academically successful. It is up to us, as educators, to tap into student interests and learning styles in order to help them find this success.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Building a positive rapport with a student is essential to making our time together valuable. In a first session, I would like to spend some of our time discussing their interests, school and social life, and their learning goals.
