Hello All,I am a chemist pursuing my M.S. in chemistry. I currently teach undergraduates as a graduate assistant. I have taught the following courses while in graduate school: General chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. I also minored in mathematics while getting my B.S. in chemistry so I have tutored students in everything from algebra to multi-variable calculus. I enjoy helping students and I get really excited when I feel I have helped a student achieve their learning objectives. I graduated from Oberlin College and Conservatory in 2015, where I earned a B.A. in Chemistry and a B.Mus. in Vocal Performance. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, both as an academic tutor and as a choir director. Working together with others to achieve goals and exceed expectations is the most rewarding pursuit one can have. In tutoring, math and chemistry have always been the subjects where I worked with students, and those are the ones that I enjoy the most. Many people are scared off by those subjects, but I enjoy showing students how to simplify and master them. I have done some personal study in SAT test preparation and how to specifically teach students how to improve on all parts of that exam. When I am not tutoring or singing, I enjoy playing bridge and chess or being outside running or in a kayak.

I became a part of Varsity Tutors because I have been tutoring regularly for the past 4 years and coming from Boston, I wanted to continue the work I was doing. I love teaching students of all levels, and I am excited to work with a broad range of students through Varsity Tutors.I want to become a high school teacher, but tutoring is something that is so unique in that you get to work with one student and learn their every strength and weakness.I look forward to working with any student who needs my help, and helping them to grow to be the student they want to be!

I graduated from Earlham College with a dual major in Classical Studies (Ancient Greek and Latin) and Peace and Global Studies. Shortly after, I received a second education by joining the Peace Corps. In Peace Corps, I worked for three years in Swaziland as an HIV educator and English instructor.What I have learned in my years of tutoring and teaching experience is that it is really important to meet people where they are. Everyone learns differently, and I consider it my responsibility to adapt, research and do my part to find something that works well for each of my students. My experiences have taught me that for teachers and tutors, there are no results without patience and flexibility.My favorite subjects are Chemistry and Latin, and I am enrolled in Calculus and Biochemistry this semester. In my spare time, I walk in the Arboretum, play video games and deal with my medical school applications.

I am an undergraduate biochemistry major at the University of Notre Dame. Previously, I was employed at Mathnasium of Granger for two years, where I was a math instructor for all ages and math-related subjects.

I come from a family of four children. I am the second born and so I always had to help my junior sisters with their homework problems. I enjoyed it a lot and decided to become a tutor once I got to college. One big advantage of tutoring is that it help you help others, put a smile on their faces and make them happy. I have being a tutor for a total of four years already and have enjoyed all the gifts I have gotten from it.I went to Lone Star College Cy-Fair and then transferred to Baylor University where I earned my Bachelors degree with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in mathematics. Throughout my time in college, I was a tutor in both schools and enjoyed it a lot. During tutoring, not only am I teaching a student a concept but I am also learning that concept. That is also one of the reasons I enjoy it so much.

I have been a certified biology and chemistry teacher for about 12 years, and I have been tutoring for about 20 years. I typically tutor science subjects like biology and chemistry, but I also have a strong background in math, so I will occasionally tutor algebra, precalc, and geometry. I enjoy helping students connect the information they learn in school to situations encountered in everyday life. Everything you study can be applied to the real world!!
