Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to help them get there. Every child has a different learning style, whether that be verbal, visual, or hands-on, and with their learning style comes the opportunity to help them specifically meet their learning need.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to help them get there. Every child has a different learning style, whether that is verbal, visual, or hands-on, and with their learning style comes the opportunity to help them specifically meet their learning need.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would want to learn about the student personally and help them feel comfortable with me. I would also try to find out what they were struggling with, but also see what their strengths are, and help them according to those strengths and their personal learning method.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

You have to help a student find their personal learning style. Once they understand what it will take to help them learn, then they will have the ability to learn at their own pace and in their own style.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Staying motivated is not always the easiest thing to do, but once you find a student's goal and something to strive for, then you can just keep encouraging them to reach that goal until they succeed.
