I graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in Animal and Veterinary Science. I am currently working toward furthering my education in human health at North Idaho College. Studying and working in the animal health field, and now human health, has required me to take a wide variety of math and science courses and continually further my knowledge of these subjects in order to be successful in my career. My excitement for learning and furthering my own education has given me a passion for helping others become excited about learning math and science as well.
I began tutoring Algebra when I was in high school and tutored high school and college students in Pre-calculus, Algebra 2, and Biology while at the University of Idaho. I enjoy tutoring students because I know what it is like to struggle to understand a subject, and the feeling of accomplishment when it finally "clicks". Helping people feel that sense of accomplishment when they work through and understand a difficult problem is what I strive for. I find that helping the student learn the concept instead of just the challenging problem is important. This ensures that the student will understand how to solve similar problems in the future and will be able to remember and use the material in their subsequent courses and life experiences.
Outside of academia, I enjoy riding horses, fly fishing, hiking, skiing, and anything outdoors.
