Learning has always been one of the most important parts of my life. I believe that one of the largest parts of tutoring is creating that feeling of joy that comes with learning. When the subjects are interesting and fun, the effort fades away. I have worked with AmeriCorps' City Year program and spent a year watching over thirty students trying to complete their freshman and sophomore years of high school at the same time. I was also a general tutor for the whole school after hours. I learned a great deal about the nuances of working with the students, their families, and the resources that were available to them. I also understand the different types of student learning. There is so much to keep track of and take care of when it comes to a child's education and I know I am up for that task!
