I recently graduated Hunter College as a student of the Macaulay Honors Program. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with a minor in Math. I am currently working at a chemical engineering start up and tutoring to save up money before I start graduate school. I plan to pursue a PhD in Materials Science. I regularly help friends and fellow students in physics and math. Physics comes naturally to me and is an opportunity for me to help people. My favorite subject to tutor is physics because it is more applied and “hands on” than math. I enjoy being able to break problems down into fundamental principles and that is more fun to do with physics. Tutoring students is all about guiding them through the problem solving process. This is more about understanding than about remembering specific details. My approach also allows students to break the problem into smaller steps and solve it in a way that is easier for them. This is the same strategy I use in my own classes and to solve technical problems at work. In my spare time I enjoy playing video games, reading and exercise. I am extremely fascinated by outer space and new technology. My goal is to eventually be an inventor and apply my skills.
