I am a graduate of Florida State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with a Minor in Business. I have always had a passion for math, as lame as that may sound. My mom has been a teacher for most of my life, so if I wasn't at school or on the lacrosse field, I was usually in her classroom tutoring students. My favorite subjects to tutor are definitely pre-algebra and algebra because I had amazing teachers who taught those subjects to me. I firmly believe the right teacher/tutor can make any subject enjoyable to learn and I hope that I can be that tutor. In my spare time, I love watching football, hiking, and playing tennis (even though I am terrible at it).

I have lived in New York City for my entire life and int hat time have gone to school on the upper west side for both elementary and middle school and attended Bard High School Early College II for high school, where I accumulated 48 college credits during my time there. I studied ballet for eleven years at the School of American Ballet and in my free time play tennis and like to play bridge. I am always looking to help students and my piers learn more and use my love of learning to help others whenever I can.

I recently graduated from Eastern Washington University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I am very motivated to help students achieve their goals in academics. I have spent the last two years tutoring at Eastern Washington University in math, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biology. In that time, I have learned which concepts students typically find difficult and how to simplify them. As a recent graduate, I know that school can be very challenging and overwhelming at times, but with the right study habits, motivation and resources students can succeed. Over the years with studying and tutoring, I have learned many tricks, mnemonics, and explanations that students find very beneficial. Currently, I am awaiting to apply to medical school, and in my free time, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends.

I am a recent graduate from Iowa State in Civil Engineering. I recently moved to Seattle to start a job with Habitat for Humanity working as a Construction Volunteer Lead. I pursued engineering because I enjoy using math and critical thinking to solve complex problems. I am also currently studying for the GRE so that I may apply for grad school next fall.I enjoy all things active. I played ultimate frisbee for my university's club team and hope to find another team to play for here in Seattle. I am happiest when I leave civilization behind and enjoy the outdoors. I love camping, hiking, backpacking, and I recently got into rock climbing.As a tutor, I believe it is my job to provide supplemental instruction that is tailored to my students' needs and learning style. Listing to a teacher explain how to solve a math problem is not everybody's favorite way to learn. Sometimes it just takes someone willing to patiently answer any and all questions. Sometimes it requires someone to show a different technique. Everyone has the ability to learn, you just have to find the right way.

While I was studying for my degree, I began my tutoring by working as a communal tutor for the physics department in the winter of 2002. Soon after, I began my time as an online tutor in the fall of 2002. Once I finished my degree, I worked as a high school teacher for two years, teaching math and physics. I maintained my online tutoring job on the side. I have also taught at the college level for over 4 years part-time. All combined, I would say that I have over 10 years of experience.

I am most passionate about Mathematics, Writing, and History. In my educational experience, helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests and advanced academically.
