I graduated cum laude with a BA in History and Literature of England from Harvard and spent my junior year at the University of Bristol in England, where I was lucky to add Irish History and Practical Theatre classes to my schedule. I hold an MFA in Acting from UCSD and am an Associate of The London Film School. For much of my adult life, I have been a professional actor dividing time between classical work, new plays, and investigative theater. I have taught classes in acting, public speaking, Shakespeare, and Devised Theatre at UCSD, The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ and in diverse locations as a member of the NY based theater company, The Civilians. No matter what I’m working on with students --reading, writing, public speaking or study skills-- I hope to foster a love of learning and to encourage a curious and inquisitive approach to the world. I believe passionately that proficiency in the language arts empowers people to communicate with clarity and conviction in all aspects of their lives. Fanatical about good stories and good books, I love to read and see movies or plays or tune in to talk shows on NPR. I’m a foodie and an avid traveller and would probably always rather be on Cape Cod.
