I first graduated from Pacific Union College with a BS in Physics and then from the University of Maryland with a BS in Astronomy. While I was studying for my physics degree I worked as a Teaching Assistant and tutor for the Math and Physics departments, working with students in math, physics, and astronomy. I like to tailor my teaching style to a student’s learning style since no one learns in exactly the same way. In addition to helping students understand mathematical and physical concepts, I like to work on problem solving techniques that are easily translatable into any subject and field of interest. Astronomy and music are my passions, but they are both essentially applied math so you could say that I really have a passion for math. I love reading everything from science fiction (inspiration for scientists) to mystery (problem solving Sherlock Holmes style) to current astronomy research (why yes I do follow Curiosity on Facebook) and many genres in between.
