Welcome to Varsity Tutors! I am a teacher and a mother, and between the two callings, I am an experienced therapist, nurse, cook, negotiator, conflict resolution expert, and patient instructor among other talents. Children know when someone truly respects them, values them, and has THEIR betterment as their own personal goal. I am patient, intelligent, creative, and caring. Aside from my vast Pre-K teaching experience, I have years of substitute teaching experience, tutoring experience, and have even assisted individuals in passing their U.S. Citizenship/Naturalization Tests. I have taught thousands of people, from age 3 to age 30! The fact that I am trilingual (English, Spanish, German) has come in very handy over the years. Throughout my life I have possessed the ability to be a mentor, friend, protector and teacher of children. I understand and respect the importance of family; after all, we hold the same values and goals!
I hold a B.A. in Psychology and English from Drew University in Madison, N.J. and a Standard Teaching Certification from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, N.J. I have also taken various courses at the University of California (Berkeley) and Mills College in Oakland, California. Throughout the years I have attended numerous workshops and seminars addressing a multitude of topics and their implementation.
I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, nature, and cooking.
