Growing up in Santa Barbara, CA, I grew up loving the outdoors and exploring local beaches and mountains. This interest in the outdoors manifested in me studying Biology at Occidental College. During my undergraduate, I worked in two undergraduate labs: Neurobiology and Ecology labs. My research took me to Costa Rica, where I studied a tropical canopy tree in Costa Rica's tropical forest. After graduating, I joined Teach For America where I taught high school Biology, AP Biology and Anatomy in South Los Angeles. I push my students to developed a strong foundation in their subjects, which allows them to transfer knowledge and skills to other subjects. I believe learning should be fun and hands on.
