I graduated from Yale University, with distinction, with a B.A. in Religious Studies. I also graduated from the Duke Divinity School, Summa Cum Laude. I began tutoring when I was in high school. I taught ESL middle school students essential English and Math skills. Since then, I have taught Math, Writing, Study Skills, and Chemistry in a summer program at an elite California private school. I have also developed curriculum for high school and college students in Theology and Religious Studies. I particularly enjoy assisting students with test preparation. By helping students to master core English and Math skills, I can aid students to open doors for their future.
My favorite moments as a tutor are when a student grasps concepts we have been working on and they understand the material in a new way. In addition to teaching, over the last five years, I have served as a Mentor to youth and college students. I believe that encouragement and mentoring are essential components of a successful tutoring relationship. While teaching students the skills they need to succeed, I help students to gain confidence in their abilities, and to see their own potential. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy baking, eating anything with chocolate, taking and editing pictures, reading, and singing.
