I am a graduate of the University of Iowa, where I received my Master of Fine Arts in English-Creative Writing from the Writers' Workshop, and New York University, where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing. I minored in Creative Writing. As a graduate student, I taught Creative Writing, and after graduating I worked as a Writing Consultant for undergraduates at the Tippie College of Business. I am most passionate about English Literature and Composition, but I also tutor Essay Writing/Editing in addition to elementary and middle school reading, writing, and math. My tutoring approach is tailored to the needs of each particular studentI believe that is the most effective way for the student to improve. And a strong foundation in language comprehension is a stepping stone to greater understanding of concepts both academic and practical. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing fiction and poetry, and the occasional internet or magazine article. I also really enjoy working to solve the New York Times Crossword and viewing art in galleries or museums.
