I am a rising sophomore at Kenyon College, a small liberal arts school an hour out of Columbus, Ohio, majoring in Philosophy. It is difficult to identify a specialty of mine because I have worked with students from 1st grade through high school on topics ranging from elementary science to trigonometry test prep, but my foremost strength is the three sections of the SAT. As a co-founder and head editor of a publishing press at my college, for a year and a half I have run workshops where I assigned contemporary literature, and taught these pieces to deepen reader's comprehension. I believe that every student can experience and achieve success, measured specifically for each individual. The acquisition of knowledge, facts and information allows each student to then apply this knowledge to necessary skills needed to reach to their full potential. In order to give students the greatest chance at success, rote memorization, showing work in math, vocabulary, proper grammar and learning how to make a variety of connections are vital, though sometimes challenging to learn.
