About Me

I continually look to meet my students where they are, both as regards their academic goals and personal interests. My wide range of academic interests and hobbies makes it a natural fit for me to include lesson modules that relate the areas of inquiry of any particular curriculum to a client's personal priorities. Rather than focusing on "teaching to the test," I work together with each client so that we might jointly discover course components about which they have innate curiosity, whether the class in question is required or an elective. I am optimistic that such a mindset leads to success in both a short-term and holistic, long-term sense. Furthermore, I have ample experience in deploying a patient attitude to addressing learning challenges as they arise, including by rephrasing or reframing comments. The teaching approach I describe above is supported by my wide range of personal interests. Because I have invested years of formal and personal study in social science, humanities, and liberal arts subjects, I am often able to help my clients relate concrete course material to their separate interests. I find this to be an especially powerful way to guide students toward alignment with the requirements of their school or academic/degree program. So, if you are a learner working to improve your capacity in political science, history, English reading and writing, or Spanish-language fundamentals, I believe we can work quite productively together!
