I am licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New York. Subjects that I am the most comfortable teaching are math (up to Algebra 2), science (Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, etc), and certain languages (Korean, Japanese, French) at the beginner level. While dabbling in a few "teaching" experiences (teaching assistant for a course, Paint Nite instructor) I found that I do best in a 1-on-1 setting which tutoring fits the bill. My teaching style is incredibly laid-back and my end-goal is making sure that one is comfortable with me and also with learning the material.

I'm Thomas. I am a graduate from medical school (MD) and have completed my Master's in Public Health (MPH). I've been tutoring all my life and am excited to continue with Varsity Tutors! I also completed two minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. While at IU, I worked for the Department of Mathematics and Department of Spanish. I also worked as a Peer Tutor for the IU Athletics Department, tutoring in several subjects including statistics, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. I graduated from college with a 4.0, and I entered medical school shortly thereafter. Since coming to medical school, I have excelled in all of my pre-clinical coursework, and I currently rank in the Top 20% of my class. I feel very comfortable and confident tutoring other students in a variety of subjects from math and science to Spanish. Since the beginning of my US experience I have worked as a teacher, adjunct professor, and instructor in a variety of institutes teaching various subjects including anatomy, physiology, histology , biology, pathology, pathophysiology, microbiology, pharmacology, infectious diseases, and more. I also worked as a researcher at Columbia University.

I am a graduate of both Duke University and University of Delaware. I received my Bachelor of Science at Duke in Computer Science and Biology. After graduating from Duke, I had several jobs involving teaching, including training adults on Microsoft Excel and Word and as a Science, Math and English tutor to elementary and junior high students. I also worked in Philadelphia as a standardized patient for a medical school. These jobs made me realize how much I wanted to be a teacher full time.
